ABUNDANCE or SCARCITY?

One of my favorite authors & speakers is the late David Foster. You’ll see a lot of quotes from him in my book. David once said that there are 3 types of people in this world: Crawlers, Coasters, and Climbers. I’m betting you can envision what he’s talking about. He goes on to say “Climbers have and Abundance mentality, Coasters and crawlers have scarcity mentality.” Mentality plays such a huge role in our lives. Join me in asking yourself this: when you look at a situation, do you scan it for all that could go wrong, or all that could go right. I think there is always potential for both. We will likely find just what we are looking for. Expect failure and it will most likely land in your lap. Expect success and you’ll be looking thru the proper lens and find that even when a big hooray doesn’t happen, a big event, you still see the little successes along the path and find some satisfaction and value in that. Failure does happen in life and we have to learn from it, but don’t anticipate scarcity, because it welcomes it. Look for the abundance of love in your family, skills and quality character in your workplace, value and quality in your friendships. Stop making a list of everything that’s wrong with your life, and the people in it. Write a story of everything that’s gone right. We all have abundance of something in our lives. What is it in your life? Write it down. Be thankful for it. Set goals to do more with the good, learn from the bad and get the weight of your “mess-ups” off your head, and under your feet.
